Please call our office and speak with a member of our scheduling staff, who will be happy to help you arrange a visit for your child. Urgent AppointmentsDuring most days of the year, we have time reserved for same day appointments addressing acute illnesses (i.e.: colds, earaches, sore throats, vomiting, or injuries). We encourage families with a sick child to call as early as possible to schedule a same day appointment. Each child that is ill will need to have an appointment scheduled in order for a provider to see them. Less acute issues, including ongoing or chronic problems, will be scheduled as promptly as possible. Well child care and physical exam appointmentsRoutine physical appointments need to be scheduled in advance. Our staff will do it’s best to accommodate your provider preference for these visits. Please bring your child’s immunization card and any school, sport, camp, or daycare forms with you to this appointment. As part of your child’s physical, we will monitor growth, development and nutritional status, as well as provide you with advice on safety and wellness. Routine well child exams are recommended according to the following schedule:
For more information about the above recommended immunizations click here: http://www.aap.org/healthtopics/immunizations.cfm Medicine ChecksChildren who receive daily medication for an ongoing condition (asthma, allergies, ADHD for example) will need a med check at least every 6 months. During these visits, the provider will assess for efficacy and side effects of medications and ensure that the most optimal treatment is being provided for your child’s problem. ConsultationsSelect providers at Kids Creek Children’s Clinic offer specialty consultations in the areas of: Asthma and Pulmonary Disease, Sexual Abuse, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder and Behavioral Issues, and Complex Medical Conditions. Kids Creek Children’s Clinic requires a 24 hour notice when rescheduling or cancelling an appointment. After Hours CareIf your child is experiencing a life threatening emergency dial 911. Routine questions, medication refills, and minor problems should be handled during our daytime hours. After hours calls should be limited to serious, emergent concerns where your child may need to be seen immediately. If you have a medical emergency with your child, Kids Creek Children’s Clinic offers a “Nurse on Call” service provided to us through Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids. A registered nurse will assess your child's symptoms, using treatment and advice guidelines approved by our doctors, to help you get the care you need. The nurse will help you decide whether or not your child needs to be seen immediately or if your concerns can wait until the next clinic day. The "Nurse-On-Call" service was designed with several benefits in mind for you and all our patients, as follows:
After normal business hours, the physicians of Kids Creek Children’s Clinic share call with the pediatricians from Grand Traverse Children’s Clinic. ReferralsIn the event that your child requires specialized medical care or consultation, our providers and scheduling staff will work with you to obtain the most accessible and appropriate referral. Many factors contribute to the scheduling of a referral appointment, including insurance coverage, medical history, and test results. HIPPA agreements signed by patient guardians allow Kids Creek Children’s Clinic to share any health information pertinent to providing quality health care. Our staff will do it’s best to secure an appointment for your child in as timely a manner as is feasible. Since individual coverage plans can vary greatly, we encourage families to become familiar with the benefits provided by their plan. We request that families present their insurance card at each visit so that we may stay updated on your coverage. Payment for office services is due at the time services are rendered unless payment arrangements have been approved in advance by our staff. We accept cash, checks, credit cards and debit cards. A fee may be incurred if payment is not made at the time of service. We will be happy to help you process your insurance claim form for reimbursement if payment is made in full at the time of service. If we participate with your insurance carrier, we expect applicable co-payment and deductibles at the time of service. Returned checks and balances older than 30 days may be subject to additional collection fees and interest charges. Charges may also be made for broken appointments. We will gladly discuss your proposed treatment and answer any questions relating to your insurance. You must realize, however, that:
We must emphasize that as medical care providers, our relationship is with you, not your insurance company. While the filing of insurance claims is a courtesy that we are able to extend to some of our patients, all charges are your responsibility from the date the services are rendered. We realize that temporary financial problems may affect timely payment of your account. No patient will be denied care because of inability to pay fees. If you have any questions about the above information or any uncertainty regarding insurance coverage, PLEASE don’t hesitate to ask us. We are here to help you. We will work with you in the event of financial difficulties so that your child will receive the care he or she needs. |
